OH wow yeah….this one definetly speaks to me. Great work xoxo

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Christie, sometimes I create light stuff, other times darker stuff, I think there’s more power to be felt in the darker work sometimes.

Oh wow… I went to sleep kinda early for a change… 2am haha! and STILL woke up late, argh! my shrink is paying a house call soon and the place is a mess!!! Thanks Tracey, I wasn’t quite sure what effect I was trying to achieve but it seems to have worked out okay. :)

  • Wendy Slee

    Wendy Slee

in your face! Exactly what a poster should be, but this is truly disturbing and thought provoking in every way…... and so very well done….

  • JenniferB replied

thanks Wendy, I’m learning a lot of new PS skills along the way, so it’s fun experimenting with this series, even though my results never quite end up looking like the tutorials I’m trying to follow, I’m shit at following instructions! :)

  • Marny Barnes

    Marny Barnes

Perfect! I love this graphic envelope pushing aspect of your art Jennifer!

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Marny, a darker theme, but then I like to play with both light and dark pieces of work. :)

  • Dwayne Boyd

    Dwayne Boyd

This one is like album cover art. It reminds me of 80’s punk era stuff.

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Dwayne, initially I think i was going for a roger rabbit kind of look, a weird blend of cartoons and realism, but I got lazy and ended up using stick figures instead! haha!

  • Trenchtownrock

    Trenchtownrock

    Powerful statement piece.

  • JenniferB replied

thanks Trench, I appreciate your stopping by to view and comment. :)

    madvlad

one photo, is worth a thousand words?-no—here it is worth a thousand pains,-the little drawings, actually, speak louder then the main act,-the main, act ,is grown, and can fight, if she knew it, the little drawings, are of someone, who could not fight, ever, other then just be,where, she was, a little helpless soul

  • JenniferB replied

thanks for your thoughtful comment madvlad, I think everyone has a child who ‘doodles’ and crosses out daydreams inside themselves somewhere. ;-)

  • charliethetramp

    charliethetramp

powerfull and emotive a very strong image
    definately impacts jen great poster

  • JenniferB replied

thanks charlie, sometimes I think darker themes pack more of a punch than the lighter stuff, especially when it comes to posters and image/word combos. :)

  • -Lilith-

    -Lilith-

Wow… I wish I could say it in Dutch now…. (a little language barrier here….ha ha). Well… Gripping! Especially with that background. Great work Jennifer!

  • JenniferB replied

thanks Lilith, would love to know what the word ‘Wow’ is in Dutch, I don’t know about language barrier, you express yourself perfectly through your poetry and art. :)

  • Phil Threlfall

    Phil Threlfall

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks whoseenme, this looks NOTHING like the tutorial I was supposed to be following! haha, I have shit concentration so I just kind of went off on my own tangent and said screw the tutorial! Love your new avatar by the way, very sunny and sexy. ;-)

  • Leon Walker

    Leon Walker

This one is very interesting to study. I’m liking your series JB!!!

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Leon, it’s a bit boring following tutorials, not that my results ever come out looking like them! hahaha, but I’m picking up a few new skills and styles along the way. :)

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

    Paul Rees-Jones

This is my fav of the three. It is amazing…on many levels.
    : { )}

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Paul, I think darker, stronger themes work better with Posters and image/word combinations, they kind of convey a stronger message I think. :)

    funkyfacestudio

Yes I know….isn’t funny ? I often see this all over the site and first thought is ….why are they yelling at me ? lol

  • JenniferB replied

hahaha… well I am perpetually paranoid, so I’m not sure how I’d handle that! lol ;-)

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

    O,o… no, like art.

  • JenniferB replied

tis fine Matt, I’ve kind of learnt how to interpret your minimalist words over time. ;-)

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

And how do you interpret it? O,o

  • JenniferB replied

The way I interpret everything people say, with a smile on my face and the assumption that everyone loves me!!! ;-P

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

    Indeed :p

  • JenniferB replied

It’s really weird, yesterday someone commented on an old story I wrote and her first words were, ‘what a piece of shit!’ my initial reaction on reading it was to crack up laughing, I thought she was talking about my writing, then later realised she was referring to a character in the story… Not a lot phases me any more. :)

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

Lol. If I say stuff like that I always hasten to add that I’m not referring to the work :p

  • JenniferB replied

You’re lucky you can be so tactful, I have turets of the brain and mouth… talk now, think later! ;-)

  • Niki Renee

    Niki Renee

great work.. i must of missed this ..
    wonderful

  • JenniferB replied

  • butchart

    butchart

the sunny yellow and child like characters and scribbles makes this image that much more powerful…..... this is a statement of what can happen if we don’t handle with care….... really thoughtful work jen….........b

  • JenniferB replied

thanks butchart, shit I was reading some old comments on an old post steve made yesterday about cybersex, including a comment that you made… what a crack up! it had me laughing in hysterics, how things have changed since then… ;-)
    emotions suck.

  • Niki Renee

    Niki Renee

i love this series … i over the words ..

  • JenniferB replied

thanks Niki, would like to re-do some of my old poetry to images now that I’ve learnt a few new skills, so I’ve hidden some old image/poetry combos to revisit and take a look at. :)

  • butchart

    butchart

ha… we’ve been through the wars here i think jen… but we are still standing…. xox

  • JenniferB replied

so true… wars in both bubble land and reality… but still alive to take on another one should the case ever arise, only a bit differently this time around… ;-) xox

  • Niki Renee

    Niki Renee

that would be awesome i cant wait. i really enjoy your work…. baby is feeling better

  • JenniferB replied

that’s great to hear Niki, oh I’m just revamping some old poetry to new images, kind of rehashing the darker stuff, lol, but there’ll be more lighter stuff back again after this series. :)

  • exposedbutloved

    exposedbutloved

this connects to me really, it takes me back to when i really liked the idea of having a tattoo like those stamps but saying damaged goods i hadnt decided where but it was an idea

  • JenniferB replied

But what about when you’re no longer damaged goods? do you get a new one saying ‘Repaired under warranty?’ ;-)
Thanks exposedbutloved, great username by the way. :)

  • exposedbutloved

    exposedbutloved

ahh but some scars never go away…

lol thank you =D though i have felt its alittle odd maybe “Emo”? but yeah its alright

  • JenniferB replied

oh i used to get called Emo for years, my earlier poetry was really bleak and dark, but I guess once you’ve been through the worst and managed to come through the other end of it all, you develop a ‘don’t give a shit attitude’ about stuff and tend to move on in cruise control… Or maybe it’s just called getting old? haha!

  • exposedbutloved

    exposedbutloved

hahah no such thing as old just wise =P
