  • Adam Stone

    Adam Stone

    Wonderfully done Jennifer.

All your hard work and relentless persistence has clearly paid of because this is an enriching, powerful, thought-provoking piece. I know how it feels when a piece of art captures every piece of your consciousness; where you can’t do or concentrate on anything else until it is done… but it’s so important to draw a line eventually. I think you stopped at the right moment because this is sublime :-)

Now sleep! Melt into your duvet and try not to rise until you’ve had those vital seven hours kip. Sweet dreams

  • JenniferB replied

Awww you’re so sweet Adam, well I kind of slipped into a sleep deprived coma! I’m prone to doing that, going full on and then crashing into a heap for a while… An all or nothing kind of person! :)

  • Wendy Slee

    Wendy Slee

wow! What a statement! I had to keep looking to find all those beliefs woven into this one…... Dan Brown will have to write another book based on your creation alone! You are so clever, but you also need to unwind, let go, and relax via some sleep!

  • JenniferB replied

I don’t usually go in for making political statements, but this idea just came to me so I had to keep working with it to see what turned up! thanks Wendy. :)

  • bev langby

    bev langby

this speaks volumes ive just watched this movie and its scarey and this work could be the cover for the movie…sorry cant link ..
    http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/add_english.htm

  • JenniferB replied

yep, I saw the zeitgest movie a couple of years ago, pretty intense viewing with some creepy undertones and messages for sure! I took what was interesting from it and discarded the messages of doom and gloom, I guess I’d prefer to think that Nukes act as a preventative rather than a resolution! Thanks bev. :)

  • Vim Lowenstein

    Vim Lowenstein

    this is excellent

  • JenniferB replied

this is what happens to your brain after days and nights of sleep deprivation… you start imagining French fries with legs running across the floor! hahaha… thanks Vim. ;-)

  • midzing

    midzing

    fantastic work Jen,,,, well done

  • JenniferB replied

thanks midzing, I usually don’t have the patience to create something so time consuming! ;-)

  • Vim Lowenstein

    Vim Lowenstein

nah i really like it, its the kinda stuff I want to do more of.
if this is what sleep deprivation does pass me the coffee.
you should blow it up to size and frame it in an old style picture frame.
    make it look rustic

  • JenniferB replied

thanks, I’ve only just started to work on pieces that make a kind of political statement, a bit more surreal, but they satisfy my inability to write a bit more, it would look an interesting piece framed and mounted as you suggested, I have some old, antique looking frames that I bought from an op shop once, one is plaster and golden, which would look quite good… And there’s plenty of holes in the walls I could cover! ;-)

  • Shoaib .

    Shoaib .

not sure how i missed this but holy hell… wow
    this is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome
hahaha i m laughing so hard right now…. going to mcdonalds is def a spiritual exercise for me :) awesomeeeee

  • John Dicandia

    John Dicandia

Fast forward from 33AD! Brilliant concept! :))

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks John, I had this concept stuck in my head for some time, it became a toss up between Mcdonalds and KFC… I guess Ronny won! ;-)

  • Vim Lowenstein

    Vim Lowenstein

hehe, you have glory holes in your house? neato.
yeah just because something is political doesnt mean it has to
    be boring or preachy.

  • JenniferB replied

Yep, charlie looks like something you’d see on a jenny craig Ad! he’s a podgy, little jack russel and you can hardly see his legs, he’s getting a bit fitter with our daily walks though, even though they just about kill me!!! :-)

  • rjcolby

    rjcolby

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

I don’t understand the significance of the year, but I still think this is an incredibly striking and evocative image – well done, Jennifer! :-) (What does the year mean?)

  • JenniferB replied

oh 2012 stuck in my head because I think I read somewhere that some religious zealots believe that’s the year of the apocolypse or armegadon, so I thought it was fitting for a last supper at McDonalds. :-) Thanks helene.

  • Aurora Pintore

    Aurora Pintore

THIS IS GREAT ART JENNIFER, I LIKE IT VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Aurora, I appreciate your long-standing, loyal support. :)

  • Matt Roberts
  • JenniferB replied

I have no idea what your little emoticons mean???

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

I see. well, this one is sorta ‘oh dear’

  • JenniferB replied

‘oh dear’ as in it offends you? or ‘oh dear’ it’s crap! :)

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

Hahaha, definitely fitting! Actually, in the Mayan long count calendar, 2012 begins a new era (among others throughout the history of their calendar), but I didn’t see the connection till now. Yeah, there are always going to be superstitions about certain years and dates.

  • JenniferB replied

Wouldn’t that be so crappy though if it happened to be your last day on earth and your last supper was McDonalds… ugh! hahaha. :-)

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

Oh dear as in that thing is creepy…

  • JenniferB replied

But the spider Fries are non-venemous. :-P

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

    McIck!!!

  • JenniferB replied

Hu????? hahahaha… you been drinking? :-P

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

Hahaha!! No, it’s all the meds, lol :-)

  • JenniferB replied

lol… sounds like they work better than mine then! :-)

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

Give my list to your doc, lol!

  • JenniferB replied

the ones I take keep me awake 24 hours around the clock! I guess that’s what you get when you ask for something non-sedating when you don’t want to turn into a zombie! :)

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

I think they should try some different combinations. That’s what helped me. Course I need a legal pad to list them all out, hahaha. Just kidding. Really. I only need regular sized paper, lol.

  • JenniferB replied

    Lol… Well I’m a bit of a walking pharmaceutical myself…;-)

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

    Good to know :p

  • JenniferB replied

Did you get around to taking some new photos?

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

Yeah, I say, so what’s one more? ;-)

  • JenniferB replied

Oh I hope I’m not up until daylight again! I’m driving my partner crazy like a manic loon! Lol

  • JenniferB replied

Oh I meant to tell you, I think I can still create that twin towers image only using the fall of the roman empire/Pompei instead of the walls of Jericho. :)

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

Oh, that would work! Look forward to seeing it!! :-)

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

I hope you can get some sleep, too! I’d tell my doc I want to be somewhere in between a zombie and a manic loon ;-) Come to think of it, I did tell him that, in so many words, though I think I did use the word zombie!

  • JenniferB replied

Personally I dont think the meds do me much good, I’m pretty resistant to them and I tend to fight them rather than go with them, so I might slowly wean myself off them when I get the “OK” to. :)

  • Matt Roberts

    Matt Roberts

Nope. Not yet. But soon… maybe.

  • JenniferB replied

    okay. :)

  • Pascale Baud

    Pascale Baud

WoW!!! Great image Jennifer !! Love the “diversion Image” !!! Bravo !!

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Pascale, I love your Photo booth Pic you did a great job in photoshop! :)

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

Good luck when you do that. It’s true that they aren’t for everyone. Hopefully, you’ll be at a better middle ground then :-)

  • JenniferB replied

Oh I’m sure I need them, they just don’t seem to do a hell of a lot for me is all. :)

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

I think you need different ones then. It’s not fun to switch but it’s worth it if you feel better once you’re adjusted.

  • JenniferB replied

ah… my brain kind of rebels against them I think! hahaha!

  • RajeevKashyap

    RajeevKashyap

    Excellent work

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Rajeev, I appreciate your dropping by to say so. :)

  • BAD-HARVEST

    BAD-HARVEST

i love this jen, just showed my mate and she’s like…that’s awesome!! love it, i want this on my wall. is it for sale? gonna make a purchase in a weeks time if it is :)

  • JenniferB replied

nah… I was pondering testing a few pieces for sale some time… not sure though, if your friend wants a copy in high res I can email you one if you want and she can get it printed out some place?

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

I’ve been there. They found ones that worked with my brain, well, mostly. Now look who’s up late? Only I’m tired and could sleep, just don’t want to go back into the nightmare, so I’m up drinking coffee at 10:30. I think it’s going to take a few hours to shake this one out of my mind. Oh, the joys of ptsd.

  • JenniferB replied

If only there were a way you could fill your Mind with more peaceful thoughts to counteract the flashbacks, I’ve experienced those myself, and the reality of them can be really frightening! Not sure if the coffee drinking does much to help though!!! I guess the nightmares are your subconscious’s way of trying to work through the process and heal itself, so painful as it is, suppressing them, chemically or otherwise, may not be such a good thing. Do you ever get day-time flash-backs while you’re awake? Shit, I got a few of those when I was in the hospital, and I swear to this day if the medical staff hadn’t told me they didn’t exist, that I’d still believe who and what I saw was real. The Mind can be such a crazy thing! Have you ever tried natural remedies and/or spiritual healing? I’m not that spiritual a person myself, but I’ve heard from others than it can be a really cathartic and healing experience for those who accept it.

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

Yeah, the daytime ones are really frightening. I’m sorry you’ve had them. I just keep trying to think positively, even though, as above, I fail enough. I did a post about my first gallery show (which I see you saw . . . is that right? hahaha – anyway . . . that’s the kind of thing I do to try to exorcise those things from my mind in the moment; it’s going to take a long time to process it all, so I need to do stuff like this in the meantime, including, yep, staying up till I think I won’t reenter the nightmare. I know what it’s about and there’s nothing I can do about it right now, so I journal it out for the next session. I am a fairly spiritual person and I think there are ways it helps me heal - doing art, for one thing - it’s just that a lot of healing’s gotta happen. Natural remedies . . . I’m leery or herbal stuff, because you don’t know whether you’re getting a safe dosage, and there aren’t studies required on them, at least not what’s sold here in the States. I’ve done meditation and yoga, but sometimes those backfire, so I’ve kind of slacked off.

  • JenniferB replied

Yep! I’ve read the post on your first gallery show! Such exciting news for you! :-))
Ah… The past is a wave we just have to ride until the seas grow calmer I guess, and yep, just as negative thinking can kind of take you over and become habitual, so too can positive thinking! I Fake positive thinking heaps until it begins to feel natural for me… which, thankfully, it’s starting to! Now I find myself smiling and laughing so much more, people think I’m stoned 90% of the time! Lol. :)

  • Helene Henderson

    Helene Henderson

Hahaha, I’m glad you’re smiling and laughing more, even if people do think you’re stoned, lol :) This is such a perfect way to put it: having to ride the waves of the past till the seas calm - or maybe until we can calm the seas. You really are a writer! And it is so true that doing something you don’t feel – like positive thinking – becomes real if you do it enough. Another one of those miracles. :-)

  • JenniferB replied

Yep, someone once told me that we ‘Think’ what we bring into our reality… Which I believe is so true, maybe that’s why not much is happening in my Life right now, because my brain is an empty vessel and I’m thinking of nothing at all! hahaha

  • jim marshal

    jim marshal

My god you are so brilliant…. this is terrific, Jesus and the Big Mac, love it!

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks so much Jim, when words fail me, all I have is a head full of pictures! :-)
I’m such a huge follower of your writing, you express human emotion and experience so perfectly.

  • jim marshal

    jim marshal

well don’t write yourself off entirely as a visual artist, I think you’re really really good at it… but wish I could help with the constipation, the only thing I can think of is sneaking up on you and scaring the b’jesus out of you somehow… maybe I’ll send a bmail to you when you least expect it and say “write the first thing that comes to mind when you see…... this!”

  • JenniferB replied

hahaha… I don’t get scared that easily! And like peeing… writing isn’t something I can do on demand. Lol… Thanks for the tips though Jim. :)

  • jim marshal

    jim marshal

on demand you say… try peeing at a crowded urinal, your body is saying Yes but something else, psychological? is just clamping down on the whole operation. I am convinced evolution didn’t prepare us to pee with strangers.

  • JenniferB replied

oh… I did pee in a crowded urinal once a few years ago, but admittedly I was pissed off my skull and had stumbled into the wrong loo, so it didn’t phase me in the least, but yes, I think the concept of public peeing is kinda creepy and embarrassing, hell, I don’t even like going to a private public loo! :-)

  • PeteStreet

    PeteStreet

What does one say when you’ve already said it?
Maybe: “You threw me the crust as you chewed on the last of my very own piece of bread”

  • JenniferB replied

I guess I could have always added a packet of Alka-Seltzer to the table… Or a stomach pump? :-)
Oh I just get all of these weird and random buzz words spinning around in my head, and the result is turning out weird shit like this.

  • eon .

    eon .

    FABBBBBYOULOSITYYYYYYYY ” – ))

  • JenniferB replied

Hahaha! Weird one AYE??? :-P X

  • Nascha

    Nascha

wow Jen…I can’t stop staring at this….incredible….all those folds in the tablecloth are mesmerising…..and everything tells it’s individual story here…..a real conversation piece. xxxx

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Jane, I’m not sure it’s naked enough for eon though. ;-) xox

  • whoseenme

    whoseenme

that’ll be quality! would you like me to send something your way?

  • JenniferB replied

I haven’t got time to look through right now, but I’ll check it out later, I usually check my email once a day at night, so I’ll send you the pic asap, fuck I’m slack at checking my mail! hahaha

  • jim marshal

    jim marshal

i’m impressed you can remember the details given your state at the time, i have many technical questions about how that actually occurred but I shall spare you, and me, this time.

  • JenniferB replied

oh… the technicalities I can’t remember, all I remember is the relief I felt from having succeeded! :-)

  • BiographyofRed8

    BiographyofRed8

fucking love this piece too!! wowzers, there are so many messages in here.. especially with the kneeling figure (who looks like third world exploitation!!).. wonderful work

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks BofR… Yep, I’m very anti-capitalism or any form of ‘Control’, financially or mentally. ;-)

  • TextureoftheSin

    TextureoftheSin

  • Varry

    Varry

    FREAKING FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

  • JenniferB replied

Thanks Varry, the image was buzzing around in my head for a while so I just had to find the ways and means to create it. :)

  • Anne McGinn

    Anne McGinn

Great image – as the late great George Carlin would have said, “Where are the pok chops???”

  • JenniferB replied

Ah… George Carlin told it as it was, pity he had to die before we got a chance to get married! ;-)

  • Naf4d

    Naf4d

Ah – see what you mean J. I Like it. ;-)

  • JenniferB replied

Ha! Thanks Naf4d… Could be my first attempt at making a statement through political art, or simply mean that I eat too much junk food and contribute to lining the pockets of The Machine… People can take their pic(k)... ;-)

  • TAHill

    TAHill

    aahh dirty McDevils….tah

  • shadowlee

    shadowlee

absolutely brilliant, some say Mary was at the last supper couple of thou years ago, maybe she’ll come back for this one, althoug I’ve stopped believing in fairy tales for some time now, love your work

  • JenniferB replied

oh i don’t know, McDonalds have a Special on their Combos this weekend, so it could be tempting for her! ;-)
thanks shadowlee, nope, don’t believe in fairytales either, but I still believe that laughter is the best medicine. :)

  • shadowlee

    shadowlee

I agree if everyone laughed once a day the hospitals would be half empty and the drug companies would go broke

  • JenniferB replied

true… or one could say that it’s the drug companies that keep everyone laughing? ;-)

  • shadowlee

    shadowlee

yeah only for a short time unfortunately

  • JenniferB replied

I guess one good thing about going through all of the bad stuff is coming through the other end and realising how so many things don’t really bother you any more… There’s a strange sense of peacefulness and a much lighter outlook to things, leastwise, that’s the stage I’ve somehow managed to come to.

  • atomikboy
