New Group Plans

I’ve been thinking about a new group lately and I want to sound people out and see if anyone is interested. as most of you know, I have a disability. I’ve run across a lot of artists on RB who also have disabilities or chronic illness that can sometimes affect their art and their careers. often this can lead to a feeling of aloneness and despair.

Basically, what I’d like to do is get different people with disabilities and chronic illnesses together to discuss our art, to feel connected with others in similar situations and to look at exhibiting together and boosting each other’s career. this will be a collaborative, supportive group centered around artistic careers and development. when you feel alone you often don’t know where to start, and then you are afraid to take the first steps. this group is about taking those steps together.

    Jennie, you should look into the RB group called “The Healing Journey”. There are many compassionate artists within this group, and the theme and collective guidelines are very similar to this concept of yours. Perhaps your group could be associated with this group, or maybe this group would satisfy your interests. Hope you look into it, and all goes well. Take good care, Peace-

    Thanks Robert, I did look at Healing Journey, but it came across as more psychological than my intent. I that Healing Journey fulfill a very important role, but I am looking at a more career driven group. helping disabled artists launch their artistic careers, provide opportunities and so forth. I would like to work with Healing Journey but I think it would be best to keep the two separate.
