A few Roseate Spoonbills visit South Carolina at this time each year. Rarely do we see such brilliant pink in nature. These birds are fun to watch, their having both pink feathers and spoon shaped bills must have made Charles Darwin chuckle under his breath.(Notice the muted shadow of the bird in the water behind)

I treasure the many connections photography affords me to fellow photographers and so many others who are touched in some way by this collection of images. On my many travels in search of beauty all around us, special awe inspiring moments give me energy, hope and clarity. Nature, we included, is so incredibly complex, yet paradoxically simple. My fellow travelers, I salute you. Our connections make us who we are and our relationships give our lives meaning.
