Laughter - Daily Tao Series
This is the first in a series of images I created from rocks that I gathered along the Snake River on my daily walks with Wiley. I hope you enjoy my latest obession. :o)
This series is called ‘Daily Tao’. Chinese symbols taken from the book ‘Tao Daily Meditations’ by Deng Ming-Dao. The book was given to me by a dear friend, and former lover. I enjoy picking it up and reading the entries, finding something new to take from them each time.
From ‘Tao Daily Meditations’ on Laughter:
Hilly village lanes,
Whitewashed sunlit walls.
Cerulean sea.
The laughter of children.
We as adults dwell upon our grizzled complexities, our existential anxieties, and our preoccupations with responsibilities. We hear the merriment of children and may sigh over our lost childhoods. Although we can no longer fit into our old clothes and become young again, we can take comfort in the optimisim of children. Their rejoicing can gladden us all.
Laughter - Daily Tao Series belongs to the following groups:
ABSTRACT DIGITAL ART AND WRITING, Feminine Intent (LIMIT TWO IMAGES PER DAY) and PEACE, LOVE & TRANQUILITY Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

Wonderful idea, I love stone, and I used to have this little book about finding yourself a special rock, small enough to carry in your pocket, or rather letting your rock find you. Very Zen, love to see where this goes! FCD!!
JenLand replied
Aw, your reality was that you were first Syd so, you just keep that FCD energy going!! These stones are pretty small and designed to be carried around. You are so in tune man!!
syd baker
Aw nuts, FCD illusion! ( fourth comment shuffle)

I’ve been trying to get my sister to photograph her paintings and found-object constructions, including these mobiles she makes out of forest thingies, like feathers, knobby gnarly tree branches, little mouse bones in tiny glass bottles, stones macarmed to hang, bits of mirror, driftwood, and they’re huge, like 3 feet across! Or her elf houses, sometimes she’ll make them out in the forest, out of rocks and sticks, chipmunk size. Need to get her here! She writes too.

Jenny, you and Wiley have the best ideas! This is a wonderful series already. I am looking forward to more. Laughter of children … and of the child still inside you, right? Yes, we will have much laughter and be like children again …. I hope to remember this.
JenLand replied
You have perfectly interpreted it Judi! Thank you!
My friend and I were walking along the river a few days ago, she was helping me find good rocks for this project, and we also picked up a nice, large stick to make into a wackadoo (another fun, musical project!) and we laughed about how, the older we get, the more childlike we are becoming, again! It all comes around…........ :o)
Thank you very much for the fav my friend!
