Birth of Adonis by

A birth story from myth – no wonder I love trees! :)
Inspired by Myrrha’s story: Myrrha was transformed into a tree that shed fragrant tears; and when She gave birth the trunk split open to reveal the most beautiful boy ever, Adonis.
Like so many others, Myrrha was escaping the lustful desires of a persistent god with surprising and very creative results.

A mix of ink, watercolour pastels and pencil.
