The “Twinned Goddess” is a pen and ink, doubled in Photoshop. Originally I was going to do the ‘norm’ and have the male and female halves but that just wouldn’t happen, so instead I played with the idea of twins and not wanting to do this twice knew I would use Photoshop.
It’s something of a reaction to there being no twin females in myth. Oh they say there is, but when you look, the explanation is quite otherwise. So… I created my own :) Cheeky yes, but fun. There is a colour version coming but not yet, she’s not quite ready.
Lots of influences from myth to fairy tales, and the style is inspired by Art Nouveau’s extreme decoration.

Oh, and I was erm… allowed to keep the bird, the water, and the patterning, but the rest I had to change and adapt. I started out with definite ideas and plans as to how this was to go but somehow nothing worked until I gave up.

but this is how myths start , through story telling , your twinedgoddesses are really quite gorgeous , I wonder how they became a godess ?? Who were their parents ??

  • Now there’s a wonderful question :) thank you. That may come to light with the current drawings/paintings I am working on. Thanks for asking.
