Intrepid misusing images

Posted 2 months ago

I am sitting here fuming. This morning I received the Intrepid Express newsletter by email and found that they have used one of my images. This is because I entered a photo competition last year. The terms and conditions stipulate that the photographer retains the copyright but that Intrepid “reserve the right to unlimited use of the photos for company brochures, promotion and advertising”. I a…

Manufactured Landscapes 2

Manufactured Landscapes

This documentary by Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky is showing in Fed Square tonight from 7.30pm. You can also find snippets on Youtube, or see his amazing industrial photographs at http://www.edwardburtynsky.com/

Definitely worth a look – his images hammer home the impact we are having on the earth and how it affects us all.

My first sale!

Posted 9 months ago

Yay! I finally got my first sale (you know, that wasn’t me). Thanks to who bought my cards.

I bought a few cards a week or so ago and have them up on my wall at work (been meaning to take a pic). They look fabulous and everyone I have shown has been impressed with the quality. Great job Red Bubble team.

All the neighbourhoods have their own teams and costumes, and they parade and carry portable shrines throug…

Adventure, Travel and Desire

This is the name of a talk at the NGVI I attended yesterday. It was mostly about the Small Worlds exhibition of 19th century travel photographs. The speaker was Alison Inglis, Fine Arts lecturer from Melbourne Uni. It was fantastic – she is a very knowledgeable and intelligent woman and a very good speaker. She put the photographs in their historical and cultural context, and offered some insig…
