Self-taught… seriously thinking about going to university to study Art next year.

I have a Diploma in Make-Up Artistry which I completed after finishing high school. I love doing special effects make-up and fantasy/fashion make-up, I intend to use it in my artwork very soon.

I am 21 years old and just starting to realise what it is that I actually want to do with my life. I am trying hard to stop doing what other people want me to do. I have tried everything from archaeology & anthroplogy to make-up artistry &, more recently, life coaching. But none of it was for me. So now I’ve come back to doing what I’ve always loved, even when I was a child; art.

I absolutely love to draw, always have. Especially interested in the relationship between light and dark – very much inspired by Caravaggio. Love to draw people, I especially focus on the curves of the female body.
Also enjoy photography, especially hanging out in a darkroom. Just starting to explore painting.
I have limited knowledge of art materials and technical terms, but I do have the passion, creativity, and determination, and at the moment that’s all I need.
