light a candle
In the Francis Chapel there was shallow bowl of sand. Sitting beside it, a pottery piece containing small white candles and a box of matches.
Open during the day, the chapel’s door welcomed any who needed a place of solace, a quiet space to meditate, think, be still and pray.
A haven of serenity where a still small voice could be heard.
light a candle belongs to the following groups:
Freedom to Shine, Living Christianity, Masterpieces: Literary Workshop, Reaching Out : A Christian Mission , Safe Haven, Spiritual Art, The Healing Journey and WMGWhen times were troubled and my heart torn
I oft used to go there, to lay them before
the One, the Creator, problem solver extraordinaire
light a candle say a prayer
I’d leave them at the foot of the cross
pray a few words, cry out my needs
then unburdened I’d quietly leave
my heart stilled, faith renewed
Then again I’d return to light another one
to say another prayer
a thank you for miracles done
and the Grace of the Son!
Praise God!
