You Are Worthy
A number of years ago I was given the words to write and the tune to sing to a person in a church who didn’t feel he was worth anything very much at all, and definitely unworthy of God’s love. But almost as soon as I’d written it and definitely after I’d played it I knew it was not a song for a moment, but was intended for more than this. There are times when we all feel unworthy and fall short of God’s love. Fortunately his grace is sufficient. But we/I don’t always remember that.
I feel we all need to be reminded that we are worthy of the Lord’s love.

Oh my child
You are loved
Not just for a while
But forever
You are precious in the eyes
Of the One who made you unique
And yes
That is I!
We are worthy
Each one His child
We are loved
Not just for a while
But forever
We are precious in the eyes
Of the One who made us each unique
And yes
That is God!
Our Lord,
And Saviour,
Our One above

Bravo Jan!!! So wonderfully written and I would love to hear the music.

Thank you so much my friend. This was written in the midst of a highly prolific songwriting season some years ago, but has stayed with me and I find myself humming or singing it still at times.
And sometimes there is reason behind that…somehow the words seem to have a positive sense about them. If I could hum the tune to you now, I would…or send a CD via bubblemail!!!
Oh, maybe we can put in an Podcast or sound file capability request to the RB gurus for bubblemails!
No, come to think of it, I have a funny feeling that might not be terribly feasible.
But in all seriousness, if I can find it somewhere here….can’t be far. I know I only put it down for a moment somewhere safe….um..yes, as I was starting to say, I am very touched by your words. Mine are easy to write when I have a tune to go with them…I think it’s all about rhythm…xxxx

Wonderful words and sentiment Jan, and yes, with all the pressures to excel, people can often feel unworthy when they are unable to attain an often unrealistic unreachable goal. So much of how we feel is based on what we can do, rather than just our being. That’s a lesson I’ve had to learn the hard way. Thanks for posting this.

Enivea, I’m so sorry. I just noticed I missed replying to you when I came in here a couple of days ago! : (
I think many of us have travelled similar roads of discovering it is when we can’t do that we find there is more. We don’t disappear, we don’t fail and we are still worthy of being loved. All * we have to do is *be!!!
Someone once said to me, at a time when I needed to hear it, that we are not human _do_ings but human _be_ings!!
I don’t know if you have any idea how touched and flattered I am, indeed humbled, that these words have touched you and spoken to you. When people like you say such nice things it makes the posting worthwhile..xxxxOx

oh really??? I am so very blessed to have you in my life, for you speak from the heart my friend and have such a great gift of giving to others. So it is wonderful to be able to return just a little of that which you send out so generously.
I am incredibly humbled that these words ma have helped you in some way; but there was one who knew you needed them, and it wasn’t me this time, I’m afraid.

Hi Gail…as I said to SHaron, I was merely to channel, the hand that wrote and not the mind that thought these words, beyond the first line. AFter that the rest was given to me.
The credit and glory belong elsewhere! <;)))><
