Crystal Clear
This poem was inspired yet again by one of Bev Woodman’s shots, Aqua Surf. Yet again, it began as a comment, but then evolved and developed in a word.doc.
Once I had it to a certain point I used bubble mail to send it to Bev. That began a back and forth collaboration, the result of which you see here.
So, many thanks to Bev, who is not only a wonderful photographer, but a fine writer and poet as well.
Thank you Bev. It was fun.

in all its shades and hues
spray of the crashing wave,
the ocean, the beach,
the distant sea…
such a delight to see
as I wandered these sandy shores
and mused on the wide swept views
a serenity and peace filled me deep, deep within
in crooks and crannies, those well hidden spots
and darkest corners I’d forgot
even though I knew.
crystal clear aqua blue
oh how I love your hues,
spits and sprays of crashing waves
you renew my spirit,
you give me peace
and fill me with hope anew
and a sea breeze blows fresh upon my face….
as I hear your crashing thunder
as you gently rise …
then roll before
crashing to the sand there under.
I see and hear it all…

Brilliant (as I’ve said before) and a further WOW – I’m always so humbled to think that my shots inspire your poetry – you are so talented.
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
lol!! but also thank you Bev. I enjoy writing the poems and its wonderful to have subject matter…a wonderful visual inspiration which gives me something to write about.
It is a real blessing to me as are you and your wonderful shots.
Thank you!
Oh, and I’ve had another idea….I think we should set up a mutual admiration society? What do you think?
: )
Bev Woodman
JSBW Admiration Society – sounds good to me.
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
YES!
I wonder, will we need an ABN or not…I presume it will be a not for profit organisation and therefore exempt!

beautifully written, very visual, so very well done. hugs
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Thank you Hilary, but much of the credit must go to Bev. For without her brilliant and inspiring visual, this wouldn’t have been written.
And without the collaboration, it wouldn’t have been as good.
It is a true and humbling privilege to be able to do this. I love writing; its fun to create something brand new seemingly out of thin air.
As always you are sooo encouraging and supportive and I can’t thank you enough.

I don’t think we would need an ABN – there is a cut off – I’ll have to check it out – something around $20,000 per year and if we made that at a hobby I would gladly pay GST. Keep thinking!
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
oh lol!!! this just gets better and better….I’ll keep thinking.

Can so relate to your words about the sea. I find that the ocean so connects me to my essence.
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Thanks Tony. I’m surprised but very glad you can relate to it!

ahhh refreshing spirit anew , definitely felt in this piece!
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Oh thank you so much budrfli…this was one of those inspired pieces which simply flowed from my fingers as they flew far faster than usual across the keys.
So I don’t know that the refreshing of the spirit you felt had very much to do with me!
But, well, I’ll accept your kind words and appreciation as intended and gratefully. Then I can revisit and re-read whenever I need. ;)
