Shall We Meet?

Shall We Meet?

As I was posting a shot I took late today of a purple daisy, whose petals were beginning to close as daylight departed, this small piece of verse struck me and simply flowed onto the ‘page’.
So I decided maybe I should actually post it as a piece of writing.

I hope you enjoy it.

petals purple
petals sweet
petals soft
shall we meet?

‘neath the boughs
at end of day
as twilight beckons
and sunlight fades

don’t close just yet
tis no time for sleep
wait a while
and let me peep

say hello
not yet farewell
I cannot go
for I love you too well.

petals purple
petals sweet
petals soft
shall we meet?

At break of day
in the worlds first glow
as sunlight first touches
damp dew below

and petals unfurl
to greet the day
and I smile my sweet
to see you again.

Your talents don’t just lie in the protographic and graphic arts fields. Written expression including poetry are among them also. Well done Jan.

Oh my goodness Ian!!! You flatter me greatly and credit me with more than I deserve. But I value, appreciate and thank you for such lovely affirmation and support. : )))
I’ll store your words away as a reservoir of positivity to draw on when I need it. I can come back to this page and soak your words in again and again!!!!
And that is a massive and generous gift!!
    Thank you.

Oh many thanks Elaine. Your words are generous and very much appreciated, particularly as this is very scary for me ~ a stepping out in faith and being very brave!!!
