old and rusty

wrung round with wire
old and tired
barbed and worn
by the years passed by

crusted orange brown
it once stood guard
proudly
boldly
surrounded and protected
its own
its place
this fence

but now
oh sad and lonely one
if tears you could shed
you would
though crusted
rusted
by time
and weather
you stand still sentinel
at that place
you call your own

Border Protection

Currently unavailable for purchase

When I viewed “Border Protection”, a stunning work by BevW, words began to fill my head as the emotions and imagination moved.
This small piece in no way seeks to copy or even emulate that of adgray, whose wonderful ‘bubbler inspired poetry’ inspires us all.

I have simply given you what I received and would encourage you to look at Bev’s wonderful profile and the artwork that inspired these few words.

An avid photographer, both still and moving, since I was 10 years old, I later discovered and developed a particular love of macro, which is now one of my main genres. More recently, however, my repertoire has broadened to include stained glass windows and particularly the stunning beauty of outback New South Wales and South, Australia.
I hope you enjoy the beauty of the Creation, captured and presented here for you.
