Congratulations! Your photo has been featured in “South Island, New Zealand”
This photo was chosen because it was of a very high quality and it captured exactly the sort of work we are looking for in this group.
Please keep up the great work and we hope you continue to add more of your excellent photographs to this group.
oh my!!! :O You’re kidding aren’t you?? I’ve never ever had a photo both favourited and featured so quickly on RB ever!!!
Thank you thank you thank you….such a massive compliment. I would love to contribute more of my photos to the group…particularly of CHCH in happier times… What I would love to do, in fact long to do is donate the proceeds of any sales of this and other images to an appropriate charity/fund for your wonderful and so beleaguered city. By putting a link to such an appeal, I could also direct others towards it…..I think we should have a RB group for it actually!!!!!
Hi Marion…how are you my friend? Well I hope. I’m so thrilled you like this shot, one of a series of experiments with shooting ferns (a first for me). Thank you for your generous and kind praise…xxx
: )
Oh and just noticed you gave me it the ultimate…adding it to your favourites!! Thank you heaps!.. :D
I love this one Jan … I love ferns and can never resist them myself. You have captured and presented this one to perfection … an instant favourite … congratulations on the features too♥
Hi Bev! Sorry I’ve been so long in answering. Life has been insanely busy since I started full time work and my visits to the bubble seem to be all too infrequent. But then I don’t seem to have much time for indulging myself in my photography at the moment, which is all a bit sad. But I must confess, study comes into the equation as well. Guess its a matter of priorities…..so I truly delight in the opportunities I do have to take some time out and lose myself here for a while…xx
Well, well, well, I finally get on RB to catch up with some old friends, and look how you are being featured!!!! This really is a superb photo Jan, and if I know you it is 100% right out of the camera. I have missed having the time to spend on RB, and missed my friends as well. I hope you have been well! Love in Christ, Julie
WEll hello there my friend!!! I also have been an infrequent visitor here in recent months….but it’s wonderful to know that friends are waiting for us when we do have time to drop in. Yes, you are right. This shot is indeed 100% straight out of the camera, with the exception of some cropping. I rarely crop, as I got into the practise of framing my shots years ago in the old film format and when I had no printing/processing/developing or editting facilities. But I felt this one really benefitted from having some extraneous rubbish removed. This was but one of a plethora of shots I took of the beautiful ferns on the banks of the River Avon, so framing sort of went out the window to make way for multiple, quick shots.
So this one was a bit of a fluke
I have indeed been very well, if very busy…full time work and study/course work tend to leave little time for the self indulgence of RB, sadly. I console myself that it is only temporary…….I hope!!!!!…xx
