The Good Samaritan by

Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan, depicted here in one glorious section of a magnificent stained glass window, from Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Dubbo, is so well that the term ‘good Samaritan’ is in common usage. When someone does something good and kind for another person, they are sometimes referred to using that adage or cliché.

Just before Jesus tells the parable, in Luke10:27, he says these words ~ “Love the Lord your God with all your mind and all your hear and all your strength. And love you neighbours also.” ~ which tells the whole story and conveys Jesus message beautifully.
We are called to care for one another, but particularly those in need, and not to cross to the other side of the road!

About Jan Stead JEMproductions

An avid photographer, both still and moving, since I was 10 years old, I later discovered and developed a particular love of macro, which is now one of my main genres. More recently, however, my repertoire has broadened to include stained glass windows and rural & outback New South Wales, Australia, among other subjects.
I hope you enjoy the the beauty of creation, captured and presented here for you.

This is absolutely beautiful. At last a card to write on that is suitable to send motivational thoughts, get well wishes or even just show off something of the amazing art in Dubbo. Thank you Jan.

  • Hi Jenny! As you can see I finally found your comment…thank you so much for leaving it and saying such nice things about it!! But the praise and glory belongs elsewhere, as you know. And without the work, the potential for a card would not exist. So credit must go to the artist who used his (I think) great gifts..xx
