“Peace. Be still and know that I am God”

Psalm 46:10

This is one of my all time favourite verses of Scripture from one of the most beautiful Psalms. In tough times, when there seems no way out, or even to still my concerns and help me to let go and sleep, I repeat these words to remind myself of God’s constant everlasting love.
And when I do, or even if I am only thinking them in the silence of my heart, I find God’s peace begins to indwell me.

Concerns stilled
Peace filled
burdens
lifted
God
gifted

given to us
to heal
to hold
to touch our hearts
heal our souls

An avid photographer, both still and moving, since I was 10 years old, I later discovered and developed a particular love of macro, which is one of my main genres. More recently, however, my repertoire has broadened to include stained glass windows and particularly the stunning beauty of outback New South Wales and South Australia.
I hope you enjoy the beauty of the Creation, captured and presented here for you.

Hi Jan. How are you? It’s one of my favourites too. I say it to myself all the time. It’s so wonderful to have that peace in our daily lives isn’t it? Lovely piece!

  • Hi there Ruth! How great to see you. I am awesome thank you. Ever since yesterday when I finally got online (on my computer) after nearly 6 months without it! :O
So, yes I found this verse extremely helpful in that time! lol! Just kidding.
You are so right. It is not only wonderful to have that peace, but I would venture to say essential! For some reason I’m amazed that others think and feel the way I do about this particular scripture. But I really shouldn’t be surprised, should I?..xxxxx

What a beautiful picture and the words too. I sit here with a lot of snow around me – and more to come – and think that your picture gives hope for a new spring and summer eventually – thank you for that :-)

  • Oh wow! I’m so please it gives you hope! Most unexpected but important and vital nevertheless!
What is, hope, faith and love…!
THank you for your wonderful words and affirmation.

We could do a swap, a little of our 37+ C (100 F – 105F) heat for some of your cold white stuff!! lol!…xxxx

    Lovely image – - – beautiful words!!!!

  • Thank you Lorilee! I’m tickled pink that you like it. I wish I knew what the flower was though…shot it in a friend’s garden and didn’t think to ask her. Some kind of flock I think? Oh and thank you for your humbling words about mine!….xx

You can look this up – - – however, I believe these are Lupine!!! :-)

  • Ah!! Yes I think you’re right! Thank you for that lorilee! I think I’m going to have to get a botanical/flower dictionary as I adore shooting them, but almost never know their names.
Like my dad, I’m botanically challenged. Actually, moreso as his disability with names of flowers was he knew their genus but not their individual botanical names! And he was usually spot on with his categorisation…xxxx

Thank you for the offer to swap temperatures but I don’t like so much warmth, so if we could devide it to around 20-22 + C it would fit fine LOL
(Actually snow/cold is fine if it just came in small bits and not through so many months) :-)

  • lol!! Well today it’s dropped down to the 20s (about 27 C) and is pouring with rain…storm drains are overflowing and minor flooding is resulting…so thank you for the swap! I now expect to hear that it has warmed up for you…..xxxx
