The pipe organ in St John’s Anglican Church, Reid in the ACT is quite stunning to look at. Sitting in the organ loft at the rear of the church, it was installed in 1981, having been designed by Ronald Sharp, the creator of the organ in the Sydney Opera House.
As one of the finest organs in Canberra, it is popular with the School of Music Staff for practice and concert performances and was recently used in the RSCM (the Royal Society of Church Music – ACT branch) composition competition final performances.
Many thanks Judy…its a beautiful church and stunning organ…and such a photogenic subject!lol..xxxx

i like the fade away to top of image. Gives some impression as to the size lovely shot and angle very good
Thank you John…so glad you like this shot. Neither the angle nor the fade away had anything to do with the photographer. I simply held the camera up from where I was sitting below and shot!!
SUch a photogenic subject with wonderful lighting makes it easy.. I’m looking forward to checking out the amazing organs you have in London, and elsewhere in the UK.!! Just wait till I upload some of them!!! This one will be such a baby by comparison..xxxx
WOW!! Those are beautifl pipes!!! Love the golden tone of the whole photo!! I know that when we get to heaven that golden tone will shine everywhere!!!
Hi Julie!! Thank you so much for your generous compliment. Hmmm…think I’ve missed them this past month. ;) And I couldn’t agree with you more…this was a little bit of heaven on earth if the truth be told…xxxxOo
Hi Gail, My apologies about taking so very long to reply. I tried to reply to comments befroe we left but I think I must’ve missed a couple, yours included. I’m glad you like this shot. It is a lovely organ…I love it’s golden hue too, which was part of the attraction I must confess..xxxx
Majestic Jan. Like musical canines, with cavities full of sonic sensations!
Oh I always love you take on things and view of the visual. But somehow I don’t think I’ll change the title to ‘musical canines’. Much as I love it I don’t know that it would look good on such things as a lminated print or on the back of a card…but then maybe that’s just me!!
THank you for your continued encouragement! You always (go ahead &) make my day…!..xxxx
THank you Tove. I’m thrilled you like this shot. I tried to tweak the colour so it wasn’t so yellow, but somehow it seemed wrong any other colour. Almost as if the golden pipes reflected and spread the colour throughout the church..xxxx
THank you Cheryl. I’m glad you like it. I do but wasn’t sure if it was suitable for putting up on Red Bubble. But I’m glad I did as others seem to appreciate it too..xx
Jan, please consider submitting to the Christian Churches, Statues and Crosses group current challenge.
oh certainly…I’ll go and check it out right now. Thanks for letting me know and encouraging me. I try to keep up with all the challenges, but am sure I miss some..!!

Beautiful gold light.
Must admit I rather liked it. In fact, I’ve pulled it back a bit as it was just too much and a bit glarey. Glad you like it
