twilight comes
daylight fades
slowly
creeping
across the landscape
in an ever flowing
unfolding wave
undulating
over each corrugation
navigating undulations
rivers and banks
buildings and streets

never stopping
pausing to think
but unrelenting
no turning back
the night is near and day almost gone
stars begin to show
glwoing and finding their place
where they can be the cnetre of attention
of every star gazer’s eyes turned upward
to the night sky

over the millenia they have been the source
the finder and pointer of the way
for astrologers and astronomers
navigators, seafarers
travellers and trekkers
those once lost were found
and thanked their lucky stars

but their time is not quite here
so they wait impatiently as
twilight takes her time
makes the most of moving as she pleases
without rushing
this is her time and it nears its end
this inbetween moment
at end of day.

An avid photographer, both still and moving, since I was 10 years old, I later discovered and developed a particular love of macro, which is now one of my main genres. More recently, however, my repertoire has broadened to include stained glass windows and particularly the stunning beauty of outback New South Wales and South, Australia.
I hope you enjoy the beauty of the Creation, captured and presented here for you.

    luv ’em both!

  • Thanks you so much…bit of a breakout for me. Writing was inspired by another bubbler’s brilliant writing ~ in style ~ wish I could remember whose it was that provided the impetus.

Beautiful image Jan and I felt so at peace reading the poem – magnificent work!

  • Wow!!! I’m rapt that my writing evoked such a sense of peace for you…that is exactly what I felt when I was greeted by this vista as I returned home after an early evening photographic expedition along the river bank in front of our home. So to actually convey my own response to the vista is amazing indeed.

Yet again you encourage me Bev!!

Beautifully done Jan with such profound words that suit the photo perfectly.

  • Hi Elaine…thank you so much for your wonderful words of praise. ‘profund words’! My goodness…never had that phrase associated with any of my writing before….once I started writing it just sort of meandered off in its own direction…
Maybe I should try that more often?

But I’m rapt that you feel it suits the photo.

This is what makes Rudbubble so great. To stumble across such a great image and words, it is like finding a hidden treasure.

    Thanks for making my day.

  • Thank you for making my evening Ron!
I cannot think of anything anyone has ever said to me or ever could say which would mean so much…what a massive compliment you have given me. Thank you so much.

But what I think makes Red Bubble so great is the wonderful people ~ like you ~ I find here, fellow bubblers, who are so enthusiastically and constantly supportive of each other, so affirming and encouraging!!!
It is people like you who make Red Bubble what it is Ron.

  • Oh this is almost too much…I feel as though I’m approaching affirmation and nice comments overload….
I’m not used to so many people saying such wonderful and lovely things about my work…!
Well I am getting used to it, but it still hits me sometimes and I need to almost come up for air! :O
But thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
