St John’s Anglican Church, Wagga Wagga, celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2007, and was one of the earliest churches established in the west of New South Wales, Australia.
Like many churches, the plans for the steeple were not fulfilled for many years, with the bell tower, complete with bells, being built much more recently.
An appeal was launched for bells to be given in memory of loved ones, which it was thought would take many years, but surprisingly they were all donated in only a fraction of the time. With an enthusiastic if small team of bellringers, the sound of the bells peal out across the city on Sundays, after funerals during the week and sometimes at weddings. They are the only full peal of bells in the city.
saseoche, thank you. It is a wonderful church with some amazing stained glass windows too. Glad you like it and I really value you your support and appreciation.

Beautiful church Jan!!! I can only imagine how wonderful those bells sound!!! Love the clear blue sky, and the light and shadow contrast!! ;-)
Thank you Julie. Yes, its a lovely church…its actually the church I go to! So I guess I’m a bit biased! lol!
I’ve actually got some sketches and drawings of it too…somewhere!
If I could put on a podcast I’d let you hear the bells, but I don’t think RB has that facility, yet! lol!
That blue sky is very typically Aussie..intense, clear and strong.
I might have something to do with the lack of moisture in the air.
Thanks for your wonderful comments on this work. I hope you know how much all your positive words mean to me.
Thank you heaps and heaps.
