Many thanks Hilary. This is a massive step up for me, but I’ve really done this for one of my nephews who is absolutely entranced by my sketching. Also, I’d like to give one to the person at church who pushed, encouraged and cajoled me to get back to my art, supported me in my photography and suggested I could sell cards! She continually affirmed me. So, I think this is the least I can do to say thank you. If it were not for her I wouldn’t have moved at all!!
Sooo, don’t expect it to hang around too long….. But I am very grateful for your wonderfully detailed and generous thoughts. I’m glad you like it. xxx
Hilary, thank you so very much for your wonderful words…There one pic I don’t really like on here, but I can’t for the life of me find the one I wanted to include instead, profile . It was weird that it didn’t appear, although it took me eons to find the first one, ‘sunset over water’. So maybe it’s hiding away somewhere. Anyway, enough of me raving on…thank you sooo much for all your wonderful encouragement, support, affirmation, encouragement and comments this year. You may not know what you have meant to and done for me. xxxxOx
This is all almost too much… so much harder to accept praise for this than for all my photos combined, as this is such a huge step, no a leap out of anything resembling a comfort zone. For one who has never ever shown her art to anyone and only has one painting (and only because my mum and dad kept it – in the garage ), this is the most massive about face. I feel somewhat vulnerable, but am nevertheless very
Wow!!!! I am truly humbled and just slightly stunned…I was far from sure about this and only put it together to give to my eldest nephew who loves my sketches. THink I’ll take it down after Christmas. It’s a bit like unzipping myself and letting the deepest most hidden part of me show to the world!!! Scary stuff!.....But I am thrilled you like it. Thank you so much for your continued support and encouraging words. xxxx
Thank you Deanna…so glad you like it…actually stunned might be closer. But then I wouldn’t want to admit publicly to that, would I? It was a tough work actually…putting it together and being willing to publish it online where anyone can look at it!!! But thank you for your words. Coming from you they mean a lot. xxxx
Thanks so much Gail…It absolutely is different..heaps harder for me too. This is the stuff I hide from the world usually but I’ve stepped out in blind faith (or ignorance, not sure which) to make a calendar as a Christmas for one of my nephews whose always been rapt with my sketches…very embarrassing!!! So, I could have done it without making it public I guess, but wasn’t sure if I’d be able to order one it if it wasn’t published.
I’m thrilled, if amazed, that you like it though. Thank you for your lovely comment Gail. xxxx
