mocked and ridiculed
mocked and ridiculed
taunted and teased
draped in purple
a crown of thorns
pierced his skin
whipped and bleeding
torn and broken
suffering in pain
he was led away
struggling and staggering
weak, alone
bearing a burden
so heavy
weighed down
stumbling
falling
silent
in pain
load lifted
shoulders strong
raised
encouraged
to go on
to that hill
that place
of a skull
to face
a fate
his
and his
alone
lifted high
the sky darkened
and
he
died….............

Very powerful verse Jan…. Easter is coming and we can celebrate Him!!!
Beautiful image sweetie, I love the composition and the placement of the words as well!! :)))) xx
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Thank you so very much Julie…I’ve had this image sitting on my computer waiting since last Good Friday. But its only now that I’ve written both the words and scripture verse to accompany it…and of course put it on RB. And you’re right, Easter is coming and we can surely, definitely and enthusiastically celebrate him…for he has set us free!!!!!..xxxxOo

Beautiful words and image….this would make a lovely card…well done!
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Thank you very much. I hoped it could be a card, but I may have to rejig the words ~ as it turns out they get cut off!!
I’m so glad you like the words, which simply flowed.

Jan your words are incredible, the image superb … the combination brilliant. So emotive and powerful message within.
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
oh Bev, you simply stun me and humble me with your enthusiasm and strong and constant affirmation and support. I will try and be gracious in receipt of such generosity and praise…..thank you so much my friend!
Phew!!! There, I got it out! lol But semi-seriously, your words mean more to me than I can say…as this is all very close to my heart, to me and to the season.
I hope you have had a wonderful Easter….I thought of you today when I was driving home this afternoon and stopped to take some photos of an old abandoned church in a tiny little country hamlet. I’ll load it soon..xxxxOo

Beautiful photo and words Jan. Perfect.
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Sharon, I don’t expect you to read this before Easter is over, but I just want you to know that your words meant a lot to me at this time.
We had this cross in the church again today ~ Good Friday ~ minus the ‘crown of thorns’. It is always powerful and emotive.
Thank you.

This gives me chills! Very nicely done. The image is great and the words are placed perfectly so that neither one distracts from the other.
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Really? :O I’m stunned but not. Partly cos I didn’t ‘write’ those words ~ either of them…on the card is from the Bible, the others, well, from the Spirit!!
But I am so pleased you’ve responded as you have to them..words and pic..xxxx

Congratulations on your feature…..very well done and deserved!
with the card…could you not put the first verse on the front, spaced out thinner down the card…then the rest inside?
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
thank you for the congrats….as far as the location of the writing goes though, I can’t put any of it inside as Red Bubble simply doesn’t give us that option. We only have the front to play with. But if you view the pic larger on here, you’ll notice that the verse on the front is actually from the Bible, and not the ‘verse’ as written in the description box…do you think I should put the poem on there instead of the scripture verse?
Thank you for all your wonderful feedback and supportive encouragement. All hints, tips, advice, teaching etc….. is always welcomed and, I hope, gratefully received!

Congratulations on your feature and you have my vote in the “Easter” challenge. Absolutely beautiful!
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Wow Patty…thank you so much for your kind words…I’m quite blown away by the feature but utterly stunned that you voted for it. I take that as great affirmation and recognition of just what Jesus did for us on that very Good friday!
