When I was living overseas for three years I suffered terribly from homesickness for nearly the first year. After that, although I settled into our wonderful new life and loved every minute of it, I still dreamed of our beautiful grey green eucalypts.

I missed them so much, I found myself often drawing them, particularly their elegant, long and languid leaves…so perfectly designed and balanced.

When we returned home my heart leapt when I saw my first one in three years.

I was truly home at last!
