creation ~ out of the darkness

creation ~ out of the darkness

darkness….
there was nothing
but darkness
nothing….
but silence
no form
no thing
void

a wind
the wind of God
moved
swept
wept
over the deep

a Voice spoke
the Word
was whispered
across the void
the dark
the deep

and it was awakened
from its deep sleep

Let there be Light
He spoke
and there
in an instant
darkness vanished
dissolved
was banished
by the Light

Beautiful windows!!!! Are they faux stained glass?

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

I thought so too…but nope, they’re real stained glass, the genuine article!
Sort of makes it just that much more impressive I think.

    Thanks for your comment.

i love this… such intense color!!! u really know how to capture such beauty :) xx

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

THank you Roxy. It’s easy when the colours in the window are so strong, particularly when the sun is shining through them!

But yes, it was a lot of fun…train, error and experimentation…but fun.

I’m speechless; this is so powerful!

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

    Bonnie,
Hi. I’m so pleased this has had an impact on you. This was a personal & specific request from a lovely older lady at our church, who also suggested the theme of a piece she wanted me to write to accompany it.
So to discover others are also being blessed is a true joy for me.

This is so very lovely you have captured this beautifully, what a wonderful piece of art

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Thank you Trudi. Yes it is a beautiful work of art and is thoroughly appreciated by numerous visitors and locals alike. It’s creator was a true artist, of the genius variety. Sadly he died many years ago, but there two others pieces which he also made and I have photographed and will post soon.
This one was pretty tricky to do actually, as it is so high, I have always tended to distort the image by the angle of the shot.

So I am more than rapt that you like it so much.

    Great shot

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Thank you…I was rather pleased with it actually, as it’s a tricky window cos its really high. Others I’d taken had a bad case of perspective distortion. But my new tripod made a huge difference, as did a bit of time, patience and thought.
