Sunset silhouettes

Sunset silhouettes

I wrote a piece about the end of the day and people heading home from offices in Canberra, into the stunning vista of the setting sun as dusk rapidly descended.
But I lost it.
Somehow, while I was writing it, the work was busily uploading.

And there it was.

With no writing of any kind or anything by way of a description.

So I will have to go away and re-write it, then return to edit this.

Apologies…but maybe there is material in the mystery…?

splendid colours and the tree shape is just amazing … stunning!

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Thank you for the compliments..the tree shapes are typical Australian gum trees, but against the backdrop of this sunset take on a new life and really stand out.

It was a vista that simply demanded to be captured.

I love the different colour tones in the sky – well done. No words needed with this one, it speaks for itself!

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Thank you again Bev. The colours were amazingly captivating and, if I’d been able to pull over earlier to take a shot of the pink and blue sky reflected in the lake, I would have.
But only a hundred metres and a few moments on, it was even better.

oh, and thank you for the reassurance that no words are needed.
maybe that’s why I lost them?!?

Stunning colours in the Australian skies and this one is so beautiful against the dark landscape :)

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

I agree completely. We are so spoilt here with the magnificent palette of colours painted across our skies, constantly leaving us in awe.
I simply love them…and the simplicity and contrast of the dark silhouetted shapes of the landscape.

    So glad you like it.

Beautiful image, the sky looks so milky with those clouds. Love the colours and silhouetted trees.

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Thank you. Yes, somehow the wispy clouds added another softer dimension to the beauty of the sky at dusk.
I’m a sucker for sunsets and silhouettes!
    So glad you liked it!

Thank you very much Peter. I was a little captivated by them too, which is why I had to get off the rat race roadway to take the photo.
