gumnuts
when the flowers fade
and all has fallen away
they are left bare
yet beauty remains
changed
from brilliant red
to shades of grey
stunning
wrapped in white
hung in pendants
clustered together
now
symbols of resilience
rebirth
and new life

gorgeous macro, look like beautiful bells, and I know what they break open into, wondrous flowers.

i love your poem which compliments the grey gumnuts so beautifully.
Jan Stead JEMp... replied
Thank you very much Marion…I was struggling with what to put in the description box and also what ‘title’ to give this photo, so it wasn’t one of those which tumbled from fingertips flashing across keyboard and onto the screen. But it may be better for the time spent looking at the image and thinking about what these gumnuts symbolised.
So, your words are greatly appreciated.
