the tube

The tube, London’s underground train network, was a fascinating, fast, crowded and noisy experience.
To me ~ a novice and stranger, unaccustomed as I was to such a method of commuting ~ confusing and puzzling.

I had just got off at the wrong stop and was trying desperately to find my way back to where I should have been on another line altogether when I suddenly realised I was alone in my panic.

Everyone and everyone around me waited with great equanimity and patience for the inevitable loud arrival of the train.

certainly not rush hour. Ilove it colour and clarity. Jell

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

No! Thank heavens!! I don’t think I would have been brave enough to venture into that particular situation…and besides the morning rush hour was too early for me.
    ; )

All confusing enough as it was, without the added confusion of hundreds of hurrying people thrown into the mix.

Having not travelled far,and no sence of direction I would have been petrified.LOL.

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

There was a part of me that delighted in the adventure and novelty, so there was no fear of the experience.
But at moments like this one, in the stillness of waiting, there was a quiet other worldliness and sureal sense to it all. And I loved the visual elements.
I’ve usually got a pretty good bump of direction, but the various lines combined with my husband’s directions threw me off.

Well that was your problem. Never trust a males directions.LOL. They don’t even ask them.LOL.

    Thanks Deanna. Will do.
And thank you for the compliment and comments…knew it appealed to me but didn’t stop to analyse why; the train was about to arrive….

I’ve been!! Lol! Compared to the russian underground, its SOOO sterile! But indeed, quite confusing…. Drifting away here. Great shot!! Perspective is captured well here

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Wow…the russian underground must be amazing! This was quite enough for me, though I have to admit this scene is not a true depiction.
So pleased you like the results of my quick take.

    well done!!

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Thanks so very much. There are so many occassions when I’ve accidentally managed to capture more with my camera than I have seen at the time and it never ceases to amaze me.
I’m so glad you like this one..xxxx

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Thank you Marie, more than I can say!!!! I actually spotted this when I went to look at the features (following your group bm) and whooped for joy. To be selected amongst such awesome images is incredibly humbling. Thank you for choosing my T shot. I’ve already entered it in the challenge and will keep my eyes on the game this time round. I’ve been so frantically busy lately that I’ve missed quite a few challenges, but they’re such fun and I always enjoy them…seeing the great works featured and submitted, as well as having the opportunity to vote. (Although, that’s the toughest part ~ to choose from so many brilliant works, so often so very different but equally good)...xxxxxxoOoOoOOOXXXXXxxx

    : )))) :D :D

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

HI Marie, I went into the group’s challenges section to enter as soon as I read your comment, only to find that entries were, as I suspected, already closed. But that was to be expected. We’ve now moved but I still haven’t been able to connect my computer to the internet and so am restricted to using my husband’s work computer (_when he’s not working!) which means I am missing out on loads of stuff like this. ONly yesterday we found that I have to be patient as the wait will be even longer! :( But thank you for the features…I will keep popping in and doing my best to submit and enter the group’s challenges whenever and if possible, as I love them.

Thank you for your continued encouragement..xxxxOox

  • Jan Stead JEMp... replied

Many thanks Sheila. I’m always amazed when one of my works is featured in a group, but its even more of a joy in Alphabet Soup, as it is becoming increasingly competitive. Indeed, it gives you entre to entering the challenge. And there is glory in recognition in so being able to do..xxxx
