conte sketch of the cross
We have a wonderful life sized old wooden cross in the grounds of our church, in the ‘Calvary Garden’, which was simply crying out for some conte treatment! When this appeared on the paper, I was amazed and realised there was more than my hand at work!
I printed it onto some thick pastels paper, which we folded and made into cards to sell at our church. I hope you enjoy it.

Oh I’m so pleased you like it. I thought long and hard before I uploaded it and then even longer if I wanted anyone to see it outside of the group I was adding it to, particularly with the RB guidelines in mind.
But it also was a risk of being a bit ‘out there’, or out of the closet, if you like.

Anthony, thank you more than I can say for your wonderful affirming comment.
The life and energy you are picking up on may be a combination of two things, (that I know of). Firstly, it was one of my very early, tentative steps to going back to my sketching and art, you know, pulling it out of the cupboard, dusting it off and seeing if it still worked. It was with great joy I discovered it did! : )))
And, with another’s hand in on it, I was filled with such life and joy as I watched, almost as an observer, the lines and shadings appearing on the page before me and watched these conte scratchings come to life!
Hmmmm…that might be more than 2....

How lovely of both of you to let me know it was/is featured, let alone congratulate me!
This has never happened to me before from any other group…being told I mean.
And absolutely never ever congratulated.
It is so wonderful, but in the same breath, incredibly humbling. I find myself wondering what on earth I have done to deserve this.
But, as far as this particular work goes, this was most definitely a team effort…mine was not the only hand holding the conte and drawing the cross. At the end, it was almost as if I was the one watching!

The Spirit can do some amazing things when we are open and allow these things to happen, for nothing (much) happens against our will.
