Circle of Fear

This is another submission for the A.R.S.E Speed Tee Challenge….

This time the topic was FEAR!

Religion can be a wonderful thing, a beautiful thing that can help many people and bring joy and happiness, because as a species we are compelled to have explanations for everything….. But too often, all religion does is muster fear in the masses as a way of control.

I live in fear of the control that religion has over people. I live in fear of how judgemental religion can be. I am not pointing the finger at any particular religion, it is all that make me fearful.

very close call there… it depends who is in I think. I was originally just going to do the American flag, and that is a direct link to Bush boy… so very close I reckon!

i think the concept is good. religion is never a wonderful thing. it is a big wank off for losers. that much is clear. (spirituality and religion are differnent matters, and so are culture and tradition. ets not get them confused).

but the execution is a little basic as the topic is so fucking juicy. i think you hit the target, but i think you did so with a peashooter. i’d like to see more bodily fluids.

    just a opinion.

    i’d like to see some

Stirring title for this piece. And I agree to a point. All fanatic religious leaders and followers inspire fear. because they only see their Gods and Goddesses in the right, and choose to force that down the throats of many. It is a well done piece- but I have to agree with the more bodily fluids.

hmm don’t think that I am getting spirituality and religion confused, however I understand your point.

My point was not to pinpoint any particular religion, or belief but to demonstrate that control over what one does or thinks because some non-existent deity has said so is foolish. We all know that religion was created as a means to control the masses, and why cannot we see that the same still holds true. I may even be a follower myself if all gods weren’t absolute cunts and judged you to within an inch of your life. I am no hedonist, but I really cannot stand being told that I may not eat bacon on a Saturday because I will be offending the great lord above, while he sits on his high throne laughing his arse of at the wankers below…..

As for the execution, you are probably right, it was created for a speed t challenge which means that we were given 2 hours to come up with a design for the word fear… So having been given a little more time to play, I most definitely could have included some more bodily fluids =)

And Rabbitollah, your opinions are always welcome around here, after all you are the spreader of Hoff Love, and every good Quorn soldier deserves a big dose of Hoff Love! With extra bodily fluids!

thanks for taking the time to comment Metal Dragoness! I have explained a little more in my response above to the Rabbitollah. I was under time restraints with this work, it is a piece that had to be completed in under 2 hours, with the topic given to us at the start of that 2 hours. Thanks for stopping by =)

Interesting concept, but I fear more the possibility that MS Dingbats might take over the desktop!
I understand where you’re coming from, but as a meditator I can only say that the OM symbol (bottom left) is a source of peace for me, and repeating it in meditation is a profoundly positive experience. Still, I know what you’re saying re religious hierarchies etc., but it would be a shame to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

ahhh no baby was lost in the making of this t-shirt, I promise you. but what is good for one may not be good for another and that is entirely my point. I am very happy that you find comfort in adhering to a belief, but as I pointed out I do not pinpoint yours or any in particular, no one is saved.

Interesting fear you have too, have you seen someone about that? ;-P
