Abstract acrylic painting on stretched canvas featuring bright, vibrant, psychadelic colors, spontaneous geometric forms and a couple hands reaching skyward, gently.
It features primarily bright blue, lime green, teal, cyan, and a very dark blue. The colors are vibrant and cool. The painting is a long rectangle and I imagine it tells a story from one side to the other. There are some hands featured on one end reaching for something, a lot of jagged shapes and an orb with swirling sprites in the middle. And on the darker end there are some lime green squares leading to spiraling swirl and a fractured abyss. The original title was The Ice Squirrel Phoenix, named in collaboration with a few friends, but I wanted to use Blue in the title for this one, and also allude to the fact that there are indeed depictions of hands in my abstract work, which was on purpose.
This is one of the few “brown-ish” paintings I’ve made, along with one called “Burning Synapse.” The yellow and orange squares in the center as well as some of the darker browns are normal matte paint. The gold, bronze, silver and white are metallic and iridescent. You can see the effect best in the 5th photo of this painting.
This canvas was painted using Liquitex Heavy Body professional paints on a 12″ × 4″ stretched canvas.
