I love playing with light. The Rainbolic series of photos is based on experiments I did using a plastic prism I bought years ago that sits on the window ledge over my kitchen sink. So I saw the light coming through the window and I set the prism on that ledge to see what would happen. The white light got all fucking “Pink Floyd” on my counter top. This series of photos was first featured on my artblog: JeffJag’s Sketchpad and were taken with a Canon T1i so they can be printed relatively large. I think you’ll find them highly saturated and psychedelic.

These photos feature reflection and refraction through clear/transparent surfaces, especially curved ones and forms with non-uniform surfaces. Water is a great example, as well as some plastics and glass. They have different indexes of refraction.

In truth, I’m just an average photographer. I know enough to be dangerous. So I take a ton of photos, sift through the duds to find something I can use. Luckily, though I’m not a great photographer, I’m an expert Photoshop user. (I teach the program at the college level and use it on a daily basis professionally.) What comes out of that process is what you see here.
