View of the Smoky Mountains - This is Home by 

Thunderhead Mountain from the woodland, Gourley private land that ajoins the National Park in Foothills, View on TN/NC line….W. Millers Cove is a mountain community that runs along the Foothills Parkway. The Foothills Parkway has views over the entire face of the state of TN. Gourleys view from the woodland at home, Gourleys from Cades Cove… the GSMNP. Olivers were 4th Great grandparents by marriage, ….Leon Gourley was born to Myrtle Gregory and James Gourley in cades Cove.
Leon and June Gourley …owned the land here, where my home and Gourley Garden is. Ogles and Gourleys grew tobacco and farmed the land prior …. Jim and I Jeffee Gourley acquired the land after Leon passed….only one year after Leon aquired it…. Jim worked the farm with his Grandfather Ogle till we married in 1976. So it worked out after he worked the farm with his Grandfather, got to live on the farm land… and we moved to the land in 1983 to help care for the land, where the Gourley home was built and cabin, ajoining the Foothills Parkway in TN, USA

  • Always liked the view from the woods, and built a cabin, although I tried to get bushes to grow under the trees once,would like to work on getting it that way. and more schrubs, fruit bushes, etc….

  • Thanks for the comment on this view from here of the Smoky Mountains…I haven’t taken as many photos lately, I have a new camera, but seem to be having trouble getting new stuff uploaded at this time. I recall seeing an image of you on your profile once, I prefer seeing faces. Thinking of a new picture for mine. Jeffee
