Anolis Carolinensis Lizards during a battle for breeding rites of an area during mating season. Matting season can begin early as April and last through late September. During this time is when you will see them do their rituals of bobbing, displaying dewlaps during courtship. Fighting Anole do not fight until death, just to keep the other males away from their territory. April at Gourley Garden in TN. Lizards in a Japanese Maple
Glad you liked the shot of the Anole in Battle For Breeding Rites, it has been the only one that I have witnessed that they stayed together for a few seconds, most of the time one will back away before a fight. Observing them and photographing them in my garden is rewarding, and I probably have thousands of pictgures of them. Thanks for visiting my site, I haven’t been on it lately much, because I haven’t been able to put a lot of new stuff on it. But I do visit it occassionally. Also, trying to put together a book. Thanks Jeffee

I have captured several Anolis mating this year, perhaps I will be seeing the young soon. I want to do a book.
