The Great Smoky Mountains National Park had early settlers… Great Smoky Mountains National Park preserves a rich cultural tapestry of Southern Appalachian history. The mountains have had a long human history spanning thousands of years—from the prehistoric Paleo Indians to early European settlement in the 1800s to loggers and Civilian Conservation Corps enrollees in the 20th century.

The park strives to protect the historic structures, landscapes, and artifacts that tell the varied stories of people who once called these mountains home.

    Lovely landscape photo.

  • Thanks, family from Cades Cove. Have you seen the images of the lizards I have been adding to the Smoky Mountains group? That is where my habitat is, and I like to share about them. And want to inform other too. Fun. You have a good night too. I used to really be hooked to RB, but since my computer doesn’t work as well, and I wanted to paint and work in my garden, I tried to slack off.
