Spills is what they are called, like little falls over the rocks, as the river flows out of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The GSMNP is an International Bio-Sphere Reserve. The National Park is only 35 minutes away from photographers home. The river was fished by my Father-in-law Leon, who’s 3th Great Grandparents were the Olivers that were the 1st white settlers in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. When my husand, Jim was a boy, he said his Father took him and others to be able to catch more fish.
Jim and I used to fish, but I caught more fish out of Douglas Lake than I ever did anywhere else.

  • Thanks for the comments on the Smoky Mountains water spills. My Father-in law was born in Cades Cove, and they gave up land when the National Park was formed.

  • The GSMNP is Americas favorite national park. I live so close to it, land ajoins the park at home. Nothing like rivers and the sounds
