Henry, I got to know him so well. Me and him sat on the porch and drank coffee, he smoked a lot. But, he would tell me about Heaven. He had a near death experience while building the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, TN. He talked like he had been to heaven…he was a brick layer who fell through a Sky light and was unconcious for a while. This is around the time painting more spiritual paintings, but I love cats and enjoyed painting this one, painted in the color of some chairs. / Henry married my Mother-in-law after building her a brick home, but he is in heaven now.Heaven-Where the redeemed will ultimately dwell in eternal bliss. Jesus’ saying, ‘In my Father’s house are many mansions’ (Jn 14:2), is understood to mean that in Heaven there are many degrees of happiness because, ‘Every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour’ (1 Cor. 3:8)This painting is not for sale, and is mixed media on canvas.
lace is incorporated into the pillow the kitten is laying on.
I like being able to share with digital though if anyone loves cats too. Kitty Cat was my first cat painting, and Henry Reed stated, “if you can paint, why are you raising dogs”? Cats are an easy subject. And I always had cats.
Glad to be able to share if you want to enjoy.
