Haven’t tried to sell work until recently, but GSMNP is first on my list to help.
This image has been viewed the most of my work, colors were chosen… It is part of a painting of two horses, used in the decor of my home…I painted it to match a couch at the time, and did wallpaper in the same colors, or some to go with it… and I have made two images out the Horses of the Smokies. Horses were one of my favorite subjects since childhood. recently painted a pale horse.
Giclee prints on paper, were made of this oilpainting, and framed at Pbase.com. The original with the two horses is in a display of old horse plow, a painting of The Wheat and the Tares, and old rake, and rope, hat, in my downstairs beside the Fireplace. I had thought about making displays out of the old horse barn here at home, along with the house. Inspired painting in the 90’s.Oil on Canvas 12 × 16

lovely!!
i especially like the snow like leaves and grass textures!!
In painting Horses of the Smokies, the colors were chosen to match cordinating pieces in the home/gallery. This is how I paint everything to match exactly-so much experience with it, prior to the machines that do it for you now/eye for it.

Absolutely gorgeous colors!!! Tremendous piece of art.
Thanks for your comment, it seems this is my favorite so far.

I guess you could say, Horses of the Smokies is one of my favorite-Horses is something I enjoy-started out drawing them as a child, finally owned one once.

Highlights makes a piece of art better-this is an older painting “Horses of the Smokies” – In oil painting background should be finished first, I was learning that when this was painted. I thought landscapes were hard, and portraits were something I didn’t want to attempt. Animals and Wildlife I do best, along with the symbolism that I painted during that time around 1994 when this was painted.

Absolutely beautiful…Great colors!!!
Thanks Sandy, I love horses and the colors in my horse painting are the colors of choice for decor. Also, I am enjoying posting, just started trying RedBubble out. Horses and cats were my two easy
subjects.

Wow, this is so lovely and the colors are unusual but suit the horse very well:-)
I like it very much, especially the way you painted the blossoms on the tree!
The Horses of the Smokies painting was done in colors to match a couch and a room I used it in. All painting match the wallpapers I put up in our home. Used a lot of talent painting walls. I would like to paint horses again.

Using dark colors first, working your way forward with the lighter, gives a painting contrast or depth. The same goes for a painting, start in the background and work forward. I always wanted to do art and not teach it, but I did try teaching it once. I don’t mind passing along information. Prefer to do books, but who knows, perhaps sometime, I might like to teach it again, if so, I would do private lessons, not groups, I think.

beautiful work
Horses of the Smokies might be the most viewed of my work, perhaps that tells me I should do more Smoky Mountains, and Horses. In touching up some of my old work, there is a painting I did of a Mother with her two cubs. I want to work on it and do a new Black Bear. I can’t just throw away the older ones that have been in the basement in slots. I thought you would like to see it when I get it done.

Thanks, for commenting on the Old Mare of the Smokies. It is an old painting, but I still like it too and have Giclee print of it too. I sent you mail with some stories about the Smokies since we are neighbors. I haven’t been able to get my computer to make anything, asking a few for help even.
Wonderful image…
Well done.
There are actually two horses in this painting, this is part of a painting that I made a set of two prints that matched. Thanks for comments and visiting.
