Faded Memories-Budapest

I’m going through some of my old photos of Europe and “improving” them with textures and effects to create more of an illustrative or painterly feel. Number 7 in a series and part of a calendar. The image is of the Országház (Hungarian Parliament Building)‎ and I took it from the Buda side at the Matthias Church.

Budapest… I truely love what you´ve done here. i visited this lovely city in 1979_ guess you weren´ t born yet_ for a just few days. Probaly this image was taken from the Buda side of the Danube_ Oh! the Danube… Well, congratulations and thanks for sharing this.

  • Jeff Clark replied

I was seven when you visited Budapest and I went there in 2005 I believe. I wasn’t too excited to go there (we were on a 3-city tour and the others were where I wanted to go.) However, once we got there my mind was changed as it is truly a magnificent city that has a feel unlike any other I’ve visited. It ended up being the highlight of our trip! The image as you know is of the Országház (Hungarian Parliament Building)‎ and I did take it from the Buda side at the Matthias Church. Thanks for the comments Danilo.

Love how you edited this classic cityscape, it has a true appearance of an Old Masters oil painting, very well done,

Thanks so much, I’m trying to achieve painterly effects in this series with only colors, patterns and textures. It’s good to hear I succeeded with this piece.

I have to fave all these edits ~ stunning work Jeff. This one in particular brings back fond memories. I lived in Budapest (Buda side( from 2000~2004 and it was a magical place. I would go back to live there in a heartbeat!

  • Jeff Clark replied

Thanks Anji, it really is a wonderful city. How great you had the opportunity to live there. I would definitely live in Europe again if given the chance.
