Whilst you cant see the blue tongue. This pic has a story. I am inside trying to study and my golden retriever is outside barking madly and I thought “shut up you……blah blah” anyway I finally gave up went outside to find him barking at this. So I ran inside grabbed camera, tried to get the lizard to poke his tongue out, I got a blurry version of the blue tongue, but I think the lizard was happy that I had shut the dog up!. Also laying on the ground taking a pic I was wondering how fast do these things run???? lol

Thats all…….

Taken on a NIKON D80 (So used to writing Canon), and

Know what you mean about the yapping. My tenterfield terrier was doing that exact same thing today for the exact same reason.

  • LOL…must have been a reptile day!

A very cool photo Judith, and an awesome feature. I love these guys. Most think that they just dawdle along, but they can move like lightning when they want to. Congratulations :-)

  • I am glad I didnt know how fast they could move when I was laying on the ground taking the picture!..lol

I think they’re pretty placid most of the time, but I accidentally spooked one once. It shot off like lightning, and I went vertically airborne. I don’t know who got the biggest fright. I reckon it was me :-)

  • Glad I only know this now…mind you they are quite small…….LOL……
