A tree on the side of the road at Mt Buffalo, the bark was really interesting, the contrats and the texture which is why I decided on black and white over color, so the main subject was the texture and the contrast
Taken on Canon EOS 7d
Focal length 65mm (on my 15-85mm lens)
I was trying to take some interesting nature scenes to channel my Ansel Adams for an assignment, he had taken a lot of images in a range of styles before becoming reknown for his landscapes. Some say he didnt photograph landscapes, but instead he photographed light. His ability to capture the range of tones in a photo – just amazing.
