EXPERIENCE THE WILDERNESS OF NEVADA’S HIGH DESERT COUNTRY OF THE GREAT BASIN AND LEARN ABOUT~~ THE LIVING LEGENDS OF THE WEST, where you will get the opportunity to view them up close or see them galloping through the desert, kicking up the dust.It will be a full day of excitement and fun photographing the wild horses and you will be learning about the different social dynamics within the herd. They are so amazing to watch!
You may capture a glimpse of a wild horse band galloping across the wide open desert landscape or gathering at the watering hole, or see a newborn foal trying to stand on his long wobbly legs to nurse, or maybe even a stallion fight. In the wild horse herd each stallion has his own band of mares and will fiercely defend an unwelcome suitor trying to take his mares away. Young bachelor stallions are kicked out of the herd at around two years of age and must go out and acquire their own herd of mares, so the older stallions are always on alert for danger to his herd from any young stallion who thinks he might be tough enough to challenge him to gain control of his herd. The sites you will see are breathtaking with endless opportunities for some great photographs .
