Loneliest Road In America Wild Horse Herd by Jeanne Nations
This herd of horses is just off of Hwy 50 along the lonelist road in America,in Eastern Nevada , it is miles and miles of nothing in the middle of no where . I took a backroad and came across a beautiful herd of wild horses and one little burro, that seemed to be very curious about the photographer! It was a great experience seeing these horses living free.
Amazing. My guess is that burro is the herd protector. He’s a big fella. I wonder if he’d be a throwback from the trail drivers. So much magical history here. The colours of the mountains are incredible….are they the actual colours of the land?
Hi Shirley there are many interesting spots along hwy 50 with lots of old west history I love going down that road, I never know what I will find, I was very lucky to find these wild horses, That is the true color of those mountains they are fabulous! thanks so much for the comment !
Very nice Jeanne. The mountains looked like they were painted in. Fabulous lighting.
Hi Marte thank you for the wonderful comment, no painting or photoshop those are the real color of those mountains, it does make a good backdrop for the wild horses take care!
Jeannie that may be the lonliest road in America but you are probably one of the most fortunate woman photographers to happen on such an awesome sight! Kudos to you! BTW, do you travel with a dog? Or something to protect you? Gotta be careful these days on those desolate roads.
Hi GranC53 I do feel blessed to have come across this herd,I love being around the wild horses and I do travel sometimes with my dog, a great big gentle giant, who weighs about 250 lb{no kidding} He is an English Mastiff, who is fearless and makes me feel very secure, he looks mean but is a big baby, don’t worry I am careful out there thanks for the concern, I appreciate that and of course thanks for the comment!
