I was recently given the opportunity to shoot merchandise pics for a friends website. I’m not huge on shooting merchandise/products, or even models and fashion. Fortunately, we did the shoot in such an awesome and quirky pub, The Foxtrot, in Crow’s Nest, that you couldn’t help but want to take pics! The model pictured here, Taylor Heywood, was a true beauty and professional. And Harrison Maher, the manager of the pub, was such a sweetheart to open up and let us take picture after picture after…..well, you get my drift.

You can see more of my merch pics on the Two Birds website. In the interim, check out Two Birds for yummy beer, all over Australia! And go have a drink at The Foxtrot. Here’s a review and a map.

Captured with my Nikon D90 in Feb. 2013, in Crow’s Nest, Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Vignetting and adjustments made in CS5.

Photography to me isn’t just about capturing beauty or magic. It’s about capturing life as it is. Whether that’s ugly, dirty, beautiful, complicated, simple or slightly altered – it’s the perception of the person behind the camera. That’s what makes the art of photography so real and unique, and that’s why it’s a passion that drives me and leaves me wanting more.
