Modern Day Piper by Jen Waltmon

I love bagpipes. I realize that they can be annoying to many people, but I love the sound they make. I could listen to them all day. I listened to this piper for a short time at the Royal Australian Air Force Airshow in Williamtown, NSW, Australia in September 2010.

Blur/soft focus added in PSE 8.

Featured in the “Human Condition” Group, December 2010/January 2011.

Photography to me isn’t just about capturing beauty or magic. It’s about capturing life as it is. Whether that’s ugly, dirty, beautiful, complicated, simple or slightly altered – it’s the perception of the person behind the camera. That’s what makes the art of photography so real and unique, and that’s why it’s a passion that drives me and leaves me wanting more.
