I’ve been to Vivid 4 times in the past 3 years. This year was my favorite. Fortunately, I decided to go with a very good friend on the last night of Vivid this year, although I went the night before.

We checked out the lesser-known installations, and found this beautiful voice-activated rainbow. How could you not want to capture this unique scene?

Very slight adjustments in CS5. Captured with my Nikon D90, 18-55 lens, in June 2013, at the Vivid Festival, Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Featured in the “Shapes and Patterns” Group, July 25th, 2013.

Photography to me isn’t just about capturing beauty or magic. It’s about capturing life as it is. Whether that’s ugly, dirty, beautiful, complicated, simple or slightly altered – it’s the perception of the person behind the camera. That’s what makes the art of photography so real and unique, and that’s why it’s a passion that drives me and leaves me wanting more.
