Turning the Tables
Thought some folks might appreciate seeing a bit of the woodworking I’ve done over the years. Several years ago, I came into possession of an big slab of wood that had come out of an old barn. When I first saw it, I thought it was probably only good for firewood, but after a bit of sanding and further inspection, I realized that it was a big, beautiful piece of well seasoned black walnut. That started me onto working on the surface until it looked like a different board! I scrounged through my stock pile of bits and pieces until I found a couple of other pieces of black walnut that would do for legs, and this table was born:

The legs are mortise-and-tenoned into the tabletop and the surface is inlayed with semi-precious stones. The legs are incised with a full sun pattern.
