Crowd Control by James Godber

Available to buy on…

Crowd control Chinese style, just a short distance from the Birds Nest Stadium in Beijing on the evening of the Opening Ceremony for the 29th Olympic Games. There were literally 1000s of military on every corner! It was a very humid evening and we felt very sorry for them all. They must have been baking in their uniforms!

Taken with Canon 40D, using 70-300 IS USM Lens at f4.6 and 170mm. ISO 800 and 1/4 second mounted on a tripod.

stunning lighting – love how the sweat is focussed on

  • Cheers. I’m pleased with this, but can’t decide if I should a) sharpen slightly and b) do something with the white balance. Anyway, I wanted to upload it quickly whilst it was topical!

Great composition & light. I love the detail of the sweat too, it adds to the moment.

Looking great, though I’d go with a different white balance myself. :)

  • I will get round to it, but it will probably be post Games! Thanks for looking in!

I reckon the white balance is spot on – its what attracted me to it initially

I like it. It looks like something from an old movie and then you realise it was taken yesterday.

  • Thanks Timana. Thanks for dropping in and finding time to look at my work!
