This portrait is of my gorgeous Ella – about a month before she died of a bee sting at 11 months old in March 2009. She was the favorite of all of us – myself, Dexter & Grisbi – because she loved us & life with unbridled enthusiasm. Her premature & sudden death left a big hole in all of our hearts.
