Sunrise shots thwarted by an all encompassing fog higher up the Blue Mountains, I descended instead into the forest and down the Leura Cascades to this beautiful spot. Such a lovely little walk along the cascades. Just beyond this, the forest opens up into a wonderful vista atop the Bridal Veil Falls to the valley beyond.
Strangely enough, at 6:30am, I had this place all to my self. Fortunate in that there was then no-one there to see me walk in to a spider web, recoil back in horror, lose my footing and bounce back, head first, down a couple of steps. Wrenched the ankle a little, picked up a bruise or too, but thank-god, the camera was unscathed.
Leura lies within the Blue Mountains NP in NSW Australia.
Taken with a Canon 5D, 17-40L at 28mm, f/10 and a 20 sec. exposure.
