Inspired by Banjo Patterson’s ‘Man From Snowy River’, Craigs Hut on Mt.Stirling in Victoria was built as a prop for the movie of the same name in 1982 and rebuilt following the bushfires of 2006/07. So whilst not an authentic cattlemans hut, it is nevertheless an iconic Australian high country bush scene. You can almost hear the cracking of the whip, the thundering of the hooves and the calls of the distant stockmen.

Taken with a Canon 5D, 17-40L at 22mm, 1/13 sec. exposure at f/14.

Cracking shot John, the light is fantastic mate! Looks like a hint of smoke in the distant hills, beautifully captured!!

  • Much appreciated John, and yes there was a bit of burn in the distance that added a little to the shot.
